Probably garbage, but if it's not the colony building sounds great :)

Okay, I already have a few problems with this game...well, maybe not problems...more like questions, worries, etc...nothing that won't be fixed once we get more info, I'm sure...

First off: The timeline?

When is this? I remember reading months ago that it would take place while Shepard was alive...between ME2 and 3, maybe? But it wouldn't have anything to do with those games; you would be out doing your own thing (exploring Andromeda, apparently) instead of worrying about the Reapers...

My worry about the timeline...will we recognize anything? If it's set too far into the future, will it seem like the technology has advanced by however long it's been? Will the races be different? Have the Asari become bloodthirsty savages after Thessia was overtaken by the Reapers and realizing that diplomacy doesn't solve everything? Are the Vorcha anymore intelligent and civilized? Have the Krogan become guardians of peace after their violent nature almost got them wiped out?

The Krogan actually bring me to number two on my list: Shepard's choices?

Now, I've seen people guess that Andromeda might take place far enough in the future that Shepard's choices won't matter...but that's just impossible in some cases...

The genophage...is it cured? There has to be an answer...We've got a Krogan on our team (you can briefly see at the end of the trailer)...

Now, having a Krogan in the game doesn't mean that the genophage has been cured, Krogan live for over a thousand years, after all...

One way the genophage choice can be negated is by saying that after the Reaper War, the council decided to cure the genophage anyway (if Shepard sabotaged the cure)...

A choice that likey can't be as easily washed away is the end choice of ME3...

Are the Reapers destroyed? Are they still hanging around and protecting the Milky Way under Shepard's command? Everyone got green eyes and synthetic/organic DNA? Obviously the refuse option isn't possible since that leads to all the races dying and the next cycle to beat the Reapers...

But one of the most important choices involves a couple of races...Quarian and Geth...

So are the Quarians extinct or not? I doubt that all of the Quarians were killed during the fight with the Geth (if you didn't manage to save them)...

I mean, there had to be some Quarians who were exiled or on their pilgrimage who refused to help fight the Geth...but even if those were the only ones who didn't die, it wouldn't be a large enough number for them to reestablish their species...if the Quarians fought the Geth and lost, they're gone...which I would hate since their one of my favorite races...

The Geth...they could be rebuilt, I guess...though I don't see the Council allowing that to happen...

Only way this choice could be erased is if both races are gone...even if it wasn't through Shepard's actions...

1.Quarians alive / Geth dead - Quarians later died of disease or something...
2.Geth alive / Quarians dead - Races destroyed Geth after Reaper War due to fear of AI...
3.Quarians/Geth both alive - Conflict eventually reignites, races destroy each other in war...

If either race is still alive, it will ignore some people's choices in someway...

And now number three on my list...which is less of a worry and more a general inquiry: Who are the enemies?

Looking at the video, they look like a couple of familiar races...

I've seen people say that the structures that form out of the ground kind of look Prothean in design...which is kinda' true...I mean, there are some similarities between the structures and the Prothean Particle Rifle...

Could those creatures be Protheans? Some people have pointed out that they have a very similar silhouette to Javik...similar head, similar shoulders...but I noticed that they have what Jack calls 'dog legs'. Their legs bend like those of the Turians and Quarians...Protheans don't have dog legs...:P

But there is another type of character that fits the silhouette...

I suppose another fate for the Geth is that they could've looked for a new home outside of the Milky Way...

Similar shoulders, dog legs...but no flashlight heads...*:|

Another possibility...Reapers?

Maybe the Reapers didn't 'sleep' in dark space between cycles as was previously thought...maybe they were constantly wiping out advanced civilizations in nearby galaxies...that might better explain how they amassed such a massive army of Reaper ships...

In Mass Effect 1, the Citadel was revealed to be a Mass Relay, itself...every fifty-thousand years, the Keepers would send out a signal and the Reapers would just instantly appear and destroy the galaxy's government, throwing the rest of the Milky Way into chaos and making the Reaper's cleansing process that much easier...

Well, maybe the Citadel isn't just a Mass Relay that opens a door to dark space where the Reapers are said to sleep...maybe the Citadel is an intergalactic Mass Relay...and maybe the Reapers have constructed Citadels in multiple galaxies...

They could finish up a cycle in one galaxy (let's say Andromeda) and then have the Keepers unlock the Citadel in the Milky Way to start their next cycle there in that galaxy...?

Fourth and last on my list: All of the above!

Timeline, choices, enemy...there is a way for this all to become a non-issue...

A way to respect the choices of all the players while simultaneously ignoring all of their choices...

Okay...so Bioware has stated before that you will be playing as an N7 agent...

Maybe your on a secret mission to the Andromeda galaxy...but why? This has to do with number three on my list - the enemy...

The Alliance has been known to seek information on the Reapers...Keiji's graybox had information on it about an Alliance black-ops team raiding a Batarian research station in possession of Reaper technology...

Perhaps we are taking on another black-ops mission...a mission to Andromeda to find more information on the Reapers or maybe a mission to find somewhere to hide from the Reapers...

A black-ops mission might also explain why we (an N7 agent) have a Krogan (and an Asari, I've heard) with us...

Organizations that perform black-ops don't necessarily use their own agents exclusively and sometimes hire help...after all, if discovered, it's a lot easier to deny the op if most of the team has never worked for you...you could just accuse your one agent of going rogue...but if the entire team consists of your agents, well, then it's a bit harder to deny...

But getting to Andromeda is going to take some time...a long time...which brings me back to number one on the list: Timeline

This game could take place during or before Shepard's trilogy...and after...

Even with Mass Effect's ships, getting to another galaxy is probably going to take too long...no fuel stations between galaxies, either...so they need to get there without wasting energy...that's going to take too long for anyone to survive...unless they're in suspended animation...

Our crew could start making their way to Andromeda before the whole Saren and Sovereign problem...then go into suspended animation...and finally reach their destination...thousands of years later...that's a hell of a long time to see results on an operation, though...*:| Maybe there is a faster way for them to get there...or maybe they planned on a faster way to get there but something went wrong...? Look, I don't know how all this space travel crap works! :\

Anyway, the point is that it takes them a really long time to get to Andromeda...reaching it a long time after the events of Mass Effect 3 which brings me to back to number two on my list: Choices

With our crew leaving the Milky Way galaxy before the really big stuff happened during Shepard's trilogy and waking up after it, our choices no longer matter because these characters have no idea what happened during the trilogy...those choices have no impact on these characters and no impact on the Andromeda galaxy...

And that's how you make this game take place after Shepard's trilogy without erasing the choices we made...

...Not sure if that's all I had to say about this...and frankly, I don't give a damn...tired of typing...going to bed...*:|

Wow that was quite a read!

One thing I never understood about the fuel system in ME2 and 3 was the fact that you can drift through space at the max level speed you last engaged your engines to be without using anymore fuel. The actually mentioned this in ME2 when the guy who is near the entrance to the citadel shouts “Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest SOB in space.” Still you’d have to be going extremely fast to get to Andromeda within the next trillion years.

Another way might be a wormhole.

I like your idea that the mass effect relay network spans more than one galaxy, but I’m not so sure they should bring the Reapers back as that would mean that Shepard was a failure.

Because of the quantum entanglement communications could be used to communicate between the two galaxies instantaneously. So we could plausibly hear from our galaxy,

Mass Effect: Andromeda Gameplay Footage Emerges, Shows Jetpack Feature - Check out this leaked footage, but be warned that it could be from 2014 and not representative of what the game looks like today.

Looks like an April fools joke.
